Octogenarian brothers Bill and Jack Wong have run Modernize Tailors in Vancouver’s Chinatown for 60 of its 90 years. Despite earning engineering degrees, they took over the family business started by their father. Once the city’s largest tailor shop with 20 employees, Modernize now relies on just two staff members who have worked there for 50 years. In an era of ready-to-wear clothing, Bill and Jack face a difficult decision about the future of their beloved shop.
